About  Iguanas

Adult Size: 4–6 feet (including tail)
Temperament: Generally calm when socialized; can be territorial

Housing
Enclosure Type: Large, secure terrarium or custom-built habitat with plenty of vertical climbing space
Minimum Size: Adults need at least 6 feet tall, 4 feet wide, and 3 feet deep
Substrate: Newspaper, reptile carpet, or soil mix; avoid loose substrates that can cause impaction
Décor: Branches, shelves, basking platforms, and hiding spots to encourage climbing and resting

Heating & Lighting
Temperature: Daytime 85–95°F with basking spot at 100–105°F
Night Temperature: 75–80°F
Heating: Use heat lamps or ceramic heat emitters; thermostat recommended
Lighting: Full-spectrum UVB lighting essential for 10–12 hours daily to support calcium absorption and bone health

Humidity & Water
Humidity: 70–80% preferred
Water: Provide a large water bowl for soaking and drinking; change daily
Misting: Regular misting helps maintain humidity and hydration

Feeding
Diet: Herbivorous—feed a variety of leafy greens (collard, mustard, dandelion), vegetables (squash, bell peppers), and occasional fruits (mango, papaya)
