About Malaysian Forest Scorpions

Lifespan: Up to 8 years
Adult Size: 10–14 cm (4–5.5 inches)
Temperament: Generally docile but can be defensive — handle with care.
Housing
- Enclosure Type: Secure glass or plastic terrarium with a tight-fitting lid.
- Minimum Size: 30x30x20 cm for an adult.
- Substrate: Deep layer (5–10 cm) of moist coconut fiber or peat moss for burrowing.
- Décor: Pieces of bark, cork bark hides, and branches for climbing and hiding.
Heating & Lighting
- Temperature: Maintain 24–28°C (75–82°F).
- Heating: Use an under-tank heat mat or ceramic heat emitter controlled by a thermostat if needed.
- Lighting: No UV lighting required; scorpions are nocturnal and prefer dim environments.
Humidity & Water
- Humidity: Keep high at 75–85%.
- Water: Provide a shallow water dish with fresh water. Keep substrate moist but not soggy.
- Mist the enclosure regularly to maintain humidity.
Feeding
- Diet: Feed crickets, roaches, mealworms, and other suitable insects.
- Feeding Frequency: Every 2–3 days for juveniles, every 4–5 days for adults.
- Remove uneaten prey after 24 hours.
Handling
